In a display of creativity and demonstration of power, the internal division of EVGA, Kinping has taken the new EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Kingpin Hybrid and accelerated it to reach stratospheric figures of no less than 2.7 GHz clock frequency and 17 Gbps of GDDR6 memory speed, setting a new global record at 3DMark Port Royal.

This extreme version of the Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti Kingpin Hybrid was first seen at CES 2019, a colossal card in itself that incorporated a hybrid air and liquid cooling system, thanks to a 120mm exchanger. The update, which we will now discuss, of the initial version, has managed to be overlocked at a clock frequency of 2.7 GHz, compared to the 2.4 GHz obtained in other attempts, and at a memory frequency of 8509 MHz with 17018 MHz effective, which has been 17 Gbps. In this way, a bandwidth of 750 Gbps has been obtained, which in itself is somewhat less than that provided in other attempts by the manufacturer, but compensated by a higher clock frequency.

This card is of course geared towards enthusiasts and overclokers who enjoy pushing everything they touch to the limit. This card will finally see the light with a new update through a 240mm liquid exchanger, instead of 120mm and a cover similar to that of the GTX 1080 Ti Kingpin model. The system is assisted by a 100mm fan at the end with mesh panels to cool the copper block that is responsible for collecting all the heat from the GPU and the other electronic speakers.

The PCB is equipped with a VRM of no less than 19 power phases that will be powered by a triple 8-pin connector reaching a TDP of 520W. In this way, the manufacturer ensures that the overclocking capacity of this GPU is impressive, thus eliminating the power limit of the Turing architecture.

Not everything, since the outer cover of the card, incorporates an LCD screen that monitors and displays the main statistics of the GPU, being, voltage, clock frequency, temperatures, GPU use and RPM of the pump and fan. Monitoring is completed by a series of indicator LEDs and interaction buttons for the BIOS and headers for an Evbot module.

The new record at 3DMark Port Royal

These characteristics are those provided by the model that will hit the market, and which has made its capacity clear with the overclocking figures that we have described before. That is why in the well-known Port Royal benchmark of Ray Tracing and DLSS of 3DMark, a score of 11744 points has been obtained, placing itself as the most powerful individual desktop graphics card of all time in this benchmark.

If we consider the average scores of other Nvidia RTX, we are talking about a difference of more than 1000 points, for example with a whole Titan RTX. The overclocking equipment that has been used consists of an Intel Core i9-9980XE under LN2 overclocked at 5.6 GHz and an EVGA X299 DARK motherboard along with 32 GB of 4000 MHz G.Skill Trident Z RAM. As you can see, much more can still be extracted from custom GPU models. This graphics card does not yet have an exit price from the market, but in view of the power and its closest "rivals", it will quietly be above $ 1, 500.
