YouTuber DudeRandom84 has delighted us with a visual show starring Far Cry 5 and Sea of Thieves at high 8K resolution, something that until recently was totally unthinkable.

Far Cry 5 and Sea of Thieves now playable at 8K

For this feat, the use of an Intel Core i7-8700K processor together with two Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics cards has been necessary, although it seems that with a more modest processor it would also be possible since its use has not been excessive, as You can see it in the videos that we leave you at the end of this post.

In both cases , a 99% use of the GPU has been observed, which makes it clear that to run games at 8K it requires enormous graphics processing power, something that can already be intuited with the difficulties that continue to plague the game at 4K today. On the contrary, the use of the processor has been quite low, and is that the objective has been to run the games at 30 FPS, so the drawing calls handled by the CPU are quite low, so that no need for a very powerful chip, of course this would change in case you want to opt for the long-awaited 60 FPS.

In both Sea of Thieves and Far Cry 5 it has not been possible to keep the 30 FPS stable, although surely it would be possible with somewhat lower levels of graphic detail, something that no one would have liked to see. As for the use of RAM, tests indicate that with 16 GB it is quite a lot even for this high resolution, so everything seems to indicate that this will be the standard for gaming in the coming years.
