A few hours ago the announcement was made that Fedora 25 already supports Raspberry Pi 2 and Raspberry Pi 3, the single-board mini-PCs that will finally be able to work with this Linux operating system.

Fedora 25 Beta: With support for Raspberry Pi 3 and 2

The new version of Fedora 25 Beta is now available and with it comes important news for those users who use the Raspberry Pi 2 and Raspberry Pi 3 mini-PCs, the official support of one of the most widely used Linux distros.

Fedora 25 Beta brings with it not only this important novelty, it also adds new technologies such as K ernel Linux 4.8, the GNOME 3.22 desktop environment, KDE 5.8 LTS Plasma and the new version of LibreOffice 5.2.2.

“The most frequent question I have had for several years was about the support for Raspberry Pi. It's also something I've been working on for a long time. Eagle eye watchers would have noticed that it almost came with Fedora 24, but I felt it wasn't good enough yet, there were too many minor issues around usability, " says Peter Robinson.

It is now with Fedora 25 that they have finally achieved the goal that they had set for themselves, the support for the Raspberry Pi platform. At the moment, the Beta version of Fedora 25 for Raspberry Pi 3 does not support the use of Wi-Fi or Bluetooth technology, for this we will have to wait for the final version of the distro, which will arrive on November 15.
