For a few hours now the Alpha version of Fedora 25 has been available, which comes with some interesting news compared to its predecessor Fedora 24 and which we are going to tell you about in the following lines.

Fedora 25 will use Kernel Linux 4.8

The main innovation in Fedora 25 Alpha is the migration to the next generation Wayland graphics server, in addition to X11 (also known as X.Org Server), which is activated by default on the systems that support it, but is available only for the Workstation edition that is based on the GNOME desktop environment.

Speaking of GNOME, Fedora 25 Alpha will use GNOME 3.21.4 which is an intermediate version to the next final GNOME 3.22, which will be officially released on September 21, although some packages are still in GNOME 3.20.2. Most likely, this version will soon be updated to the GNOME 3.22 Beta that is already available and to GNOME 3.22 Beta 2, which is expected to be released later today.

New Wayland graphics server

Finally, in Fedora 25 the use of the new Kernel Linux 4.8 RC2 is highlighted, which was released and announced by Linus Torvald a few days ago, in Fedora 25 it will be possible to test how this new kernel works. The first Beta of Fedora 25 should be ready by October.
