Forza Motorsport 6 Apex benchmark, AMD wets Nvidia's ear. Once again we are facing a game programmed in DirectX 12 and AMD returns to wet Nvidia's ear. There is no doubt that the reds have adapted much better to DirectX 12 and their current hardware offers a much better performance than Nvidia that sees how their Maxwell cards cannot cope with their Radeon equivalents.

AMD dominates Nvidia in Forza Motorsport 6 Apex

This time we are facing a new benchmark in video courtesy of Digital Foundry, they have tested an AMD Radeon R9 390 and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 in the video game Forza Motorsport 6 Apex that is currently in beta and being developed under DirectX 12. The testing environment is completed with an Intel Core i7 4790K and the game has been run in ultra quality at 2560 x 1440 pixels and 8 x MMSA

In the video it is observed how the Radeon R9 390 is superior to the GeForce GTX 970 at all times but especially in rain, where we see that the AMD card gets to get up to 15 fps from the Nvidia solution. In the case of night races an AMD advantage is also observed but in this case it is already much less.

The advantage of AMD's GCN architecture over Nvidia's Maxwell under DirectX 12 is once again demonstrated, which is largely due to the fact that Maxwell is not hardware compatible with asynchronous shaders. Nvidia has taken note of this detail and Pascal is already 100% compatible with asynchronous shaders
