Fuchsia, the new Google operating system [rumor]

Table of contents:

There are several Anglo-Saxon websites that have echoed information that for now is a rumor, a very feasible rumor, Google would be preparing a new operating system of its own that will not use Linux and whose code name is Fuchsia.

Fuchsia would be based on the Magenta kernel

Google already has two operating systems running, one is Android and the other is Chrome OS, both use the Linux operating system as a base. In the case of this new code-named Fuchsia system, it is said to have used the Dart programming language and would be developed entirely in Google's 'labs' based on the Magenta kernel. Its most interesting feature is that it would be compatible with ARM and x86 platforms, so that the system would work in the same way on a PC or on a portable device, something that Microsoft Windows 10 already does 'halfway'.

Another aspect that stands out is security, with a capacity-based model that can be run on virtual machines.

Google will dispense with Linux for its new OS

For some time now it has been speculated that Google could launch its own operating system to compete with Windows, but will Fuchsia be that operating system? There are many speculations, from the fact that Fuchsia will be a system for the 'Internet of Things' like Google Home, until it would be the replacement of Android for portable devices such as phones and tablet PCs. Today it is impossible to assure anything and less when Google has not confirmed the news that it is working on a new OS.

We will be on the lookout for the good news about Fuchsia.
