G.Skill has announced its latest Trident Z DDR4 memory solutions for Intel's Z390 platform and ninth generation processors. Their ads include DDR4 Trident Z RGB DC memories that will double capacity per DIMM and frequencies.

Trident Z RGB DC uses new dual-capacity memory configurations

The new Trident Z RGB kit uses dual-capacity DIMM technology, which offers about 32GB per DIMM, instead of 16GB as it was before. The technology allows G.Skill to offer 32 DRAM ICs in a single DIMM, something that will also be coming to the proposals of other memory manufacturers.

The G.Skill Trident Z RGB DC Memory Kit is compatible with select ASUS Z390 motherboards and will be useful on motherboards that only have two DIMM slots. Until now, these boards were only capable of supporting 32GB of maximum capacity, but with the DC memory solution, they can now take full advantage of regular ATX-size motherboards, with a 64GB memory option using DC Trident Z modules. Naturally, there will be many more motherboards from different manufacturers that will be able to take advantage of these new memories, but they have not been announced yet. The modules will be available in 3000 MHz (CL14) and 3200 MHz (CL14) kits, each with two 32 GB DIMMs. All DIMMS use Samsung B-dies offering even greater overclocking potential.

In addition to the kit, G.Skill also raises the frequency limit in 32GB (4x8GB) capacity settings to a staggering DDR4-4500MHz, resulting in an exceptional combination of speed and high capacity. The screenshot above shows these frequencies with the ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XI Extreme motherboard.

The release date and prices of these memory kits have yet to be confirmed.
