G.Skill, a leader in manufacturing memory, solid state drives and peripherals, launched its new G.SKill Trident Z RAM memory kit in DDR4 format in early summer. These run at speeds of up to 3200MHz and are optimized for Intel's Z170 and X99 chipsets.

G.Skill Trident Z DDR4
G.Skill makes a very elegant presentation with a cardboard box and a very striking cover. Inside we find the memories protected in a plastic blister. On the sticker on the back cover we have all the information we need to know: model, total memory size and voltage.
The pack consists of two DDR4 modules of 8GB each, which make a total of 16GB at 3200 Mhz and CL16-18-18-38 latency with a voltage of 1.35V. As expected in some high-end modules, they support the XMP 2.0 profile and are compatible with Intel Haswell-E (LGA 2011-3) and Skylake Z170 (LGA 1151) sockets. We can find packs with frequencies up to 3466 Mhz and a total size of 64 GB. They have been seen overclocked frequently up to 4000 Mhz… What a barbarian!
Design is one of its strongest points , the brushed aluminum heatsink is silver in color and plays with the colors black and red, offering a PREMIUM touch. In the upper area we see that detail that we like so much, as it is a beautiful aesthetic that falls in love at first sight.
One of the points to consider is the 4.4 cm height of the heatsink, this size almost forces us to look for a suitable cooling that accepts high profile memory or to opt for a compact liquid cooling.
