Gainward shows off his geforce gtx 1060
After the official presentation of the new GeForce GTX 1060 card, the main Nvidia partners are rushing to finalize their customized versions of the new card aimed at the mid-range to bring all the benefits of Pascal architecture to users with a tight pocket that does not they can afford to go to the superior GeForce GTX 1070 and GTX 1080.
The GeForce GTX 1060 is destined to be the new benchmark for the mid-range alongside the Radeon RX 480. The new Nvidia card mounts a Pascal GP106 GPU manufactured in 16nm and made up of 1280 CUDA Cores, 80 TMUs and 48 ROPs that work at a maximum frequency in its reference model of 1, 709 MHz.
The GPU is accompanied by 6 GB of GDDR5 memory with a 192-bit interface and a bandwidth of 196 GB / s, all with a laughable 120W TDP that promises very low power consumption.
Gainward GeForce GTX 1060 Founders Edition
First of all, we see the Gainward reference card that should go on the market for an approximate price of 300 euros. Being the Founders Edition version we find the Nvidia turbine heatsink that expels hot air out of the chassis but has the drawback of being inefficient when cooling.
Gainward GeForce GTX 1060 Gale and Gainward GeForce GTX 1060 Herd
We finally got to how interesting custom Gainward models are. In this case, we are dealing with two custom PCBs with VRM of 4 + 1 phases and 3 + 1 phases that will also have higher quality components to be able to offer higher frequencies and a greater margin for overclocking.
Its base and turbo frequencies are 1544/1759 and 1519/1734 MHz respectively, and in both cases we find a single 6-pin power connector that will be more than enough given the low TDP of the card.
