Xfx shows off his custom radeon rx vega
Table of contents:
So far the success of the Radeon RX Vega has been so low that we have hardly seen any custom models so it all comes down to practically AMD reference cards. XFX has joined Asus and Gigabyte by showing in images their new custom graphics card based on the new AMD silicon.
This is the XFX Radeon RX Vega
The Radeon RX Vega from XFX makes use of a shorter PCB than we are used to seeing, this is possible since the memory chips are in the interposer next to the GPU, thus saving a lot of space compared to the more conventional GDDR5. Above the PCB is a heatsink made up of a dense aluminum radiator that is cooled by two large fans that are responsible for generating the necessary air flow. It is a design that reminds us a lot of the Radeon R9 Fury with a heatsink larger than the PCB itself.
AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 Review in Spanish
The card is powered by an 8-pin and a 6-pin connector, which seems to indicate that it is a Vega 56 since this configuration is insufficient for a much more demanding Vega 64.
Above the heatsink we see a cover with a design that imitates carbon fiber and with two red fans, an aesthetic that we are little used to today. Includes an aluminum backplate to protect delicate electronic components and improve aesthetics.
