Earlier this month Galax unveiled its 'Star' graphics card and initially, we were more than a little confused. With its semi-transparent design, it seemed at the time that this was simply the aesthetic they were looking for. However, that semi-transparent case had a purpose.

GALAX implements custom cases for its RTX 2060 Super 'Star'

It has been revealed that Galax has added the sleeve support for this RTX 2060 Super based model, which can be placed on the translucent panel to create custom graphic covers. All you have to do is create and slide them like a piece of paper in an A4 plastic wallet.

This could be a fad that other manufacturers could imitate, but it's still early days to be sure, and many still use the embossed logos on the covers and RGB lighting.

This version of Galax, however, allows us to use any case design we like that can be easily inserted to make our graphics card look truly unique.

Where can I get one?

Well, first of all, finding a Galax graphics card can be a bit difficult as it is not a brand that markets itself in the West. Therefore, finding the 'Star' model is quite a challenge, except that we throw away imports, with the waiting times that this entails.

Also, as far as could be found out, only a Chinese website offers the option to manufacture and deliver these covers.

Despite this, however, we still think it is a rather interesting concept. Hopefully we'll see something similar in the West if this model thrives and succeeds. We will keep you informed.
