Unboxing and design

Gamdias has opted for its typical design for the box of these Hephaestus, on the front we see an image of the product as well as its most important characteristics, which we will talk about throughout this analysis. The front also offers us a small window so that we can appreciate the product from the outside. All its specifications are detailed on the back, in several languages including Spanish.

Gamdias Hephaestus is a gaming haeadset with a very novel design, although we are going to start with the headband which is its most conservative point. It is a simple bridge headband, made of steel for great durability, on the inside it has a padding to make it more comfortable on the user's head, it is a fairly soft and abundant padding. The headband is adjustable in height, something that will be great for us to adapt the product perfectly to our head. As we see the route is quite wide.

And we pass to the area of the domes, which is the most interesting in this Gamdias Hephaestus P1. The domes are predominantly made of plastic, something that helps maintain a fairly contained weight. This plastic has a shiny finish, which gives it a very attractive appearance. The design of these domes has been thought to allow the entry of air, thus reducing sweating in the hottest months, at least on paper. Gamdias Hephaestus P1 also stands out for offering a vibration system, the manufacturer claims that this helps boost bass.

On the inside of the domes we can see the circumaural pads, very soft and abundant for a great comfort of use. These pads are finished in very soft synthetic leather, thanks to which we will have a very good insulation from the outside.

In the left dome we find the omnidirectional microphone, it is a folding design so that it will not bother us when we are not using it. Its design is flexible so that we can adjust its position perfectly.

Finally, it includes a 1.8 meter braided cable that ends in a gold plated USB connector. The control knob has been included in the cable, which allows us to regulate the volume, turn the microphone on or off and adjust the power of the vibration.

Gamdias Hera Software

Gamdias Hephaestus P1 is managed in a very simple way using the Gamdias Hera application, which we can download very easily from the manufacturer's website. The headset can work without the need for software, although logically its installation is highly recommended in order to get the most out of it. Once installed, it will keep running in the background and will be accessible from the Windows taskbar.

First of all we find the general panel that offers us the control of your virtual 7.1 sound system, we can adjust the volume of each of the channels, and modify its orientation in a very simple way. It also gives us the option to adjust the overall volume level and the sampling rate to 48Hz and 44.1Hz.

We continue with a 10-band equalizer from 30 Hz to 16 KHz, with a level range of -20 dB to + 20 dB in each band. The manufacturer has included predefined profiles for different musical genres. We continue with a menu to establish various environment effects that also allow us to select the size of the environment.

We go to see the lighting section, the Gamdias Hephaestus P1 offers us a configurable RGB system in 16.8 million colors and various light effects, this is how it is.

Gamdias Hephaestus P1 is a gaming headset that offers a very good quality sound, with a fairly flat profile that makes it very suitable for general use, in this case the bass is not abused to the detriment of other frequencies. The vibration system that has included the manufacturer helps to boost the bass frequencies somewhat in explosions and shots, it does not do wonders but it does show some improvement. What I did not like so much is the virtual 7.1 sound, I think it does not live up to the rest of the characteristics of the headset and it is better to leave it in stereo. Its microphone captures a voice with enough quality and a fairly high volume.

As for comfort, the ear cushions are very comfortable and make wearing these headphones for long sessions a delight, which is also helped by the headband padding. Gamdias affirms that his ventilation system will make us sweat less, something difficult to verify in these not very hot days in which I have been testing it.
