In the market we can find a large number of game controllers, one of the best is the GameSir G4s, which is built with a very high-quality design and offers us Bluetooth and USB 2.4 GHz operating modes for maximum compatibility.
Whether you are a PS3, Android, iPhone or PC user, the GameSir G4s is one of the best options you have at your fingertips when buying a new game controller. Let's start with the review!
First of all, we thank the Geekbuying store for the trust placed in giving us the GameSir G4s for its analysis.
GameSir G4s technical specifications
Unboxing and design
GameSir G4s comes with a quite different presentation, the controller comes in a plastic box with a transparent top so that we can see it perfectly before opening the box. The manufacturer has taken advantage of the front face to place an image of the controller as well as its most notable characteristics such as the different operating modes, its lighting, the vibration motor, the long-lasting battery and its two very precise analog sticks.
Once we open the bundle we find the following content:
- Gamesir G4s remote control.User manual.USB-Micro-USB cable.
If we focus our eyes on the GameSir G4s we see a controller that is built in high quality plastic, most of it is black, although it has some silver details such as the crosshead, the rear buttons and two small areas in the central part. One of its most notable features is the inclusion of LED lighting so that we can see the buttons without problems even in the dark. Another of its great advantages is that it can work in both bluetooth mode and USB 2.4 GHz mode, so it offers enormous compatibility, we are dealing with a true universal controller that will serve us to play on a large number of devices.
GameSir G4s sees how its grips are finished in rubber to improve the grip on the user's hand, something that comes phenomenal when you are holding it during a long session. Its size is very ergonomic, this also helps to achieve a better experience of fatigue-free use in the hands, if you are used to playing with smaller and less ergonomic controls, you will notice it right away.
GameSir G4s wants to make it easier for users to adapt and, therefore, it has adopted an arrangement of its buttons similar to that of the Xbox One controller, the one most used by PC gamers. So on the left side we have an analog joystick on the top and the eight-way crosshead on the bottom, if we focus on the right side we find the second joystic in the bottom area and the AXYB buttons in the top area, the latter They have colored lighting to improve aesthetics and help see them in the dark. Right in the center we see the select and start buttons in addition to the Gamesir power button.
We continue with one of the most interesting points of the GameSir G4s, in its central part we see a tab that we can raise to expose the two buttons of turbo and clear. Also the tab includes a clamp thanks to which we can attach a smartphone to the remote to play in a very comfortable way.
This is how it looks with a smartphone on:
By uploading the tab we have access to the area in which the USB receiver is stored, to be able to remove it you have to open the tab so it will be almost impossible for us to lose it if we have it stored in its place.
We now look at the rear buttons of the GameSir G4s, specifically we have the two buttons L1 and R1 next to the triggers L2 and R2, in this sense the control mimics the Sony Playstation instead of the Xbox. The buttons are firm and have a click on them, something that makes them louder than we are used to seeing. The two triggers are silent and have a path that reminds me a lot of Sony controls, although perhaps a little softer. The size of all of them makes them very easily accessible.
In the back there is nothing to highlight beyond a reset button that serves to restore the configuration of the remote to its default values, to press it we will have to help ourselves with a clip or something similar.
Now let's talk about the interior of the controller, the GameSir G4s mounts a 32-bit MCU processor with a computing capacity of 48 million times per second, this is accompanied by a high-precision and low-latency Realtek Bluetooth 4.0 system. Finally we highlight its included 800 mAh battery that gives it an autonomy of use of 30 hours of play in normal conditions. The remote includes a function that makes it enter standby mode automatically after several minutes of inactivity.
To use the remote we just have to turn it on from the Home button, when combined with the other buttons we access its different modes:
- Home + A: Android / Smart TV mode. Once in this mode we can press select + X to enter and exit mouse mode.Home + B: Android mode without the option to use mouse mode.Home + X: PC mode.Home + Turbo: PS3 mode.Home + Y: iOS mode.
GameSir World gaming platform
The GameSir G4s is fully compatible with the GameSir World gaming platform, it is a center from which we can download compatible games in a very simple way. Once the games are downloaded we can launch them from the same application in a tremendously simple way. This application is one of GameSir's strongest points and will give us thousands of hours of fun.
To access we only have to scan the following QR code:
You can also access the download of the compatible apps and Android and iOS games from here.
Final words and conclusion about Gamesir G4s
After having used the GameSir G4s for several days it is time to make a final evaluation of the product. The Chinese manufacturer has managed to build a game controller very comfortable to use during long sessions and with a very good autonomy, during our tests we have exceeded 20 hours so it will be quite easy to approach the promised 30 hours.
The buttons on the controller are all very pleasant to press and convey a great quality feeling, they are all very firm and it does not seem that they will break soon, we can rest assured that GameSor G4s is a high quality game controller.
