Nvidia's GeForce Now cloud gaming service may have spent years in beta format, but it looks like the wait was worth it after announcing that they have reached 1 million subscribers.

GeForce Now reaches 1 million users after two weeks

Just weeks after the formal launch of GeForce Now, the company announced that more than a million players have subscribed to the service to play via streaming anywhere.

These numbers seem to exceed the one achieved by Google Stadia at launch and they have recently announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will also be part of the catalog compatible with the service at launch.

GeForce Now's success can be explained basically for two reasons. The first of these is that there are currently two subscriptions. One is free and the other is paid, this would explain the number of 1 million players in such a short time.

The second reason is that, unlike Google Stadia, GeForce Now does not sell the games, but instead uses the games available from users on platforms like Steam, Epic Store, and uPlay. Right now, the service supports almost nearly 400 games, with another 1, 000 available for single-session installs.

This week Nvidia announced that the long-awaited Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Projekt Red will be supported by GeForce Now from day one if you purchase the game on Steam, and will also have Ray Tracing support with a Founders subscription.

Nvidia's Phil Eisler commented: "We have another 1, 500 games in our queue, from publishers who share the vision of expanding PC gaming to more people . "

The service is available on PC, Mac, Android phones and select Smart TVs. We will keep you informed.
