Gigabyte has opted for a box with a handle to pack the AERO 14, something that is great for us to transport the equipment in a much more comfortable and perfectly protected way.

The case is based on the predominant black color, the manufacturer has put a great high quality image and all the most important features of this excellent gaming laptop.

Once we open the box we find the Gigabyte AERO 14 along with its power supply and accessories. As expected, everything was perfectly protected to avoid damage during transport. To give life to this screen, we have opted for the six-core and twelve-thread processor Intel Core i7-8750H based on the Coffee Lake architecture, and the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics card, which is based on the Pascal architecture and has very low energy consumption, which has allowed us to offer a very thin and light equipment.

This hardware is accompanied by 16 GB of DRR4 memory along with a 512 GB SSD storage. It does not have a mechanical hard drive, although in exchange it offers us a second M.2 NVMe slot to put another SSD and complement everything easily.

The system is powered by a generous lithium battery with a capacity of 94.24Wh, double what most laptops usually mount, and which allows it to offer a range of up to 10 hours, something impressive in such a powerful equipment.

All this cooled by an advanced cooling system with two fans and several high quality envelope heatpipes, something that allows it to be kept as quiet as possible at maximum power and to keep temperatures in the CPU and GPU low enough to this type of product.

Its keyboard is a CHICLET type membrane and is based on very low-profile keys, its touch is quite good and it will offer us a good experience of use, without of course reaching the level of a mechanical keyboard. This keyboard includes LED lighting in white and adjustable in intensity.

Finally, we talk about its certified speakers and compatible with Dolby Atmos technology, which will offer us great sound quality and a faithful positioning of enemies in the middle of the battlefield. Its sound quality will allow us to obtain a great experience in movies and all kinds of videos.

Test of performance

The Intel Core i7-8750H is one of the great novelties that it has released this year. It is the first Intel 6-core processor with a 4 GHz frequency. This is a major evolutionary step for notebook computers. The Aero 14 complements it with 8 or 16 GB of RAM and an Nvidia GTX 1050 TI graphics card.

Why doesn't it include a GTX 1060? Gigabyte wanted to significantly differentiate the Aero 15 from the 14 and the graphics card is the best example. At the software level it is quite complete. We really like its dashboard and the ability to quickly create macros. We would like to see a somewhat more modern interface to measure up to a great laptop.

First of all we are going to see the speed of the M.2 SATA disk with the popular program CristalDiskMark in its latest version, this has been the result obtained. As we see it is a fairly fast disk but without the speed of ferrari of the NVMe.

As for the processor, we have used Cinebench R15, which has given a really impressive score for a laptop with 1081 points.

Gigabyte has revamped their new Aero 14 with a lot of head! It incorporates the new six-core Intel Core i7-8750H processor, 16 GB of DDR4 SO-DIOMM RAM, Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti graphics card, incorporates thunderbolt 3 to expand with an external graphics card, 14 ″ 2K screen with X-certificate. Pantone Rite and a 525 GB SSD signed by Crucial.

In our performance tests we have been able to verify that in Full HD resolution we can play any game in a fluid way. But the Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti is a bit small in very demanding games, and in 2560 x 1440 resolution we do not have an optimal experience. If your use is 100% gaming, then we advise you to rethink the Aero 15 with the Nvidia GTX 1060 or GTX 1070.
