The AERO family returns at this CES 2020 in Las Vegas. We are talking about the new GIGABYTE laptops. Are you ready?

As with the AORUS 17, the AERO 17 and 15 come to respond to creative professionals who work with heavy tools and to please the most "gamers". According to the brand, these laptops are fast enough to play the latest titles in "AAA " without problems. We are going to analyze the different GIGABYTE laptops that we find in the " AERO " family.

AERO 17 and 15: rain to everyone's taste

And it is true, this family of laptops rains to everyone's liking. They are a solution for companies, designers, content creators and " gamers ". It is true that the AORUS range may be more interesting for the last aspect, but we like the concept that this family offers. This family can be said to compete against the MSI Stealth range .

Perhaps, in this series of notebooks, the screens of the equipment are taken more care, equipping technologies that are aimed at obtaining the greatest precision in colors, sharpness, contrast, etc.

Within this line, we find the following ranges:

  • AERO 17 HDR NOW. AERO 17 XA. AERO 15 OLED NOW. AERO 15.

It seems that the “ YA ” range is focused on graphic design or photo editing and video or because its screens focus on color accuracy. On the other hand, the other two ranges focus on gaming aspects , such as a refresh rate with many hertz.

All models will be accompanied by DDR4 RAM from the hand of Samsung that will operate at a frequency of 2666 MHz. We will have from 8 GB to 32 GB, but we will be able to install a maximum of 64 GB.

As for storage, all products in this family have the same 2 M.2 SSD slots:

  • 1 x NVMe PCIe. 1 x SATA / NVMe PCIe.

Do not get carried away by the nomenclatures because they are all spectacular teams. As common details among all, we find the ports:

  • 3x USB 3.1 Gen1 (Type-A). 1x Thunderbolt ™ 3 (USB Type-C). 1x HDMI 2.0. 1x DP 1.4 & USB3.1 (USB Type-C). 1x 3.5mm earphones / microphone. 1x UHS-II SD card reader. 1x DC connector. 1x RJ-45.

AERO 17 HDR NOW

Things get serious with this series because all the specs are fabulous. Starting with the CPU, we will have two options: Intel Core i9-9980HK or Core i7-9750H.

Switching to the GPU, we have Intel UHD 630 integrated graphics and an 8GB RTX 2080 Max-Q GDDR6. Also, we will enjoy NVIDIA Optimus technology . On the other hand, we have a 17.3- inch matte IPS panel with ultra-thin AUO UHD HDR ADOBE RGB 100% frame and 4K resolution.

Finally, a weight that will not exceed 2.5 KG, which is not bad for its screen size, as for its equipment.

AERO 17 XA

In this case, we will only have only one processor as an option: the Intel Core i7-9750H. It will be accompanied by an 8GB RTX 2070 Max-Q Design GDDR6. Regarding the panel, we have a 17.3-inch IPS LCD with Full HD resolution, 144 Hz and anti-glare.

It can be said that it is a product focused more on gaming, due to the technology provided by its display.

AERO 15 OLED NOW

We go down to the 15.6-inch models, but their data sheet is not worse for it. The AERO 15 OLED WILL ALREADY come with the option to choose between the Intel Core i9-9980HK or the Core i7-9750H.

Although it calls itself "OLED", its screen is made by Samsung and has AMOLED technology , providing 4K resolution. It is also anti-reflective.

As with its older brother, its GPU is the 8GB RTX 2080 Max-Q GDDR6 and features NVIDIA Optimus technology.

AERO 15

To finish, this product line allows you to choose between the Intel Core i9-9980HK and the Core i7-9750H. However, we find its screen interesting: 15.6-inch Full HD IGZO LCD panel with a refresh rate of 240 Hz and anti-glare. Its graphics card will be the RTX 2070 Max-Q GDDR6 8 GB.

It seems that GIGABYTE will cast doubt on consumers when they want to buy a high-performance laptop. I say this because your teams are going to compete fiercely against those of MSI and Acer, have no doubt.

We recommend the best laptops on the market

What do you think of the AERO range? Will they manage to take the cat to the water?
