The Gigabyte Aorus Z270X Gaming 8 comes packed in a large cardboard box, where a black background predominates along with the screen printing of the product in large letters. In the lower right corner we see the great variety of certifications that it incorporates.

It seems that the new design of the Aorus series has taken center stage in the highest ranges of motherboards, and it has honestly suited you very well. On this new platform you can clearly see where Gigabyte is betting: overclock, liquid cooling blocks and a great lighting system.

Going back to the design, we see a black PCB that combines great with the other components. Going into more details, the board has two zones with cooling: the most important for the power phases and the second for the Z270 chipset.

It features nothing more and nothing less than 22 digital power phases supported by Ultra Durable technology and high-end Nichicon capacitors. What does all this set of technologies do? offers us the best experience, durability and overclocking possibilities on a high-end board.

The Gigabyte Aorus Z270X Gaming 8 is so special, because in addition to excellent phases, it incorporates a high-quality Bitspower block. Using a Plexi coating and nickel plated copper. The appearance is great and it will help us to have a cool system.

As we have already seen in the superior model, it incorporates hybrid connectors. What does this mean? Basically, the fan heads are fully compatible with normal cooling (heatsink, fans) such as a pump for liquid part cooling (D5 or DDC) or compact liquid cooling. To end the power supply, it has an auxiliary 8-pin EPS connection and the classic 24-pin ATX connection.

Thanks to the 4 DDR4 RAM sockets it allows us to install a total of 64 GB with frequencies of up to 4133 Mhz and compatible with the XMP 2.0 profile. To check the stability of the i7-7700k processor at 4500 MHZ (stock values) and the motherboard we have stressed with Prime 95 Custom and air cooling. The graphics that we have used is an Nvidia GTX 1080, without further delay, let's see the results obtained in our tests with a 1920 x 1080 monitor. In terms of overclocking we have managed to set it to 5 GHz but the voltage and temperatures shot up with any benchmark, processor problem and its poor sealing.

BIOS

Gigabyte brings the best BIOS we've tested to date. It allows us to optimize any manageable component, also modify lighting effects, perform fully stable overclocking and in our language, Spanish.

We quite liked that from its software in Windows it allows us to activate an overclock option and leave the processor to a 4700 MHz overclock without touching anything.
