Gigabyte continues betting on the most compact formats, the Taiwanese firm has shown at Computex 2018 its new Gigabyte GA-SBCAP4200 and Gigabyte GA-SBCAP3940 motherboards, both with a Mini ITX format and equipped with Apolo Lake processors.

Gigabyte GA-SBCAP4200 and Gigabyte GA-SBCAP3940

Apollo Lake is a low consumption platform from Intel, it is about processors manufactured at 14 nm and with a design focused on maximizing its energy efficiency, allowing us to carry out all the most common tasks with a low level of consumption or energy. Gigabyte GA-SBCAP4200 is based on the quad-core, four-wire Intel Pentium N4200 processor at frequencies of 1.1 GHz and 2.5 GHz in base and turbo modes respectively. It also includes Intel HD 505 graphics capable of reaching 750 MHz. All this with a TDP of only 6W, and a consumption in normal tasks of 4 W.

As for the Gigabyte GA-SBCAP3940, it is based on an Intel Atom x5-E3940 processor with four cores and four threads of processing at a base and turbo frequency of 1.6 GHzz and 1.8 GHz respectively. This silicon includes Intel HD500 graphics and has a TDP of 9.5W.

Both boards include a SO-DIMM slot with support for up to 8GB of 1600MHz DDR3L memory, two USB 3.0 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, two Mini PCIe slots, one Gigabit Lan network port, a sound engine 6-channel HD and an infrared port for a remote control.

In short, two very compact motherboards, with very low energy consumption and a passive cooling system so you can work and perform all kinds of tasks in perfect silence. Both include hardware accelerated processors for all types of multimedia content.
