The Gigabyte brand, known especially for its motherboards and graphics cards but also with a presence in peripherals and components such as boxes or sources, today announced the launch of its new mouse belonging to the gaming product range, the AORUS M5.

Announced the AORUS M5, your new mouse

The new mouse, which had already been shown at Computex 2018, has a dexterous design optimized for palm and claw grips, something that we determine by its shape, although it is not specified by the manufacturer. At first glance, it also highlights its RGB lighting, customizable through RGB Fusion software, although as you know it is merely aesthetic and will not influence our performance or comfort.

Regarding other benefits, we have an optical sensor of the highest range, the Pixart PMW3389, with 400ips and 50G acceleration, that is, a basically slightly modified PMW3360. This is one of the best sensors today so they will not give even the slightest problem to the most demanding players. The maximum DPI with this sensor is 16, 000, a massive amount that practically no one will use, but it is there for whoever wants it.

The keypad used is from the Japanese manufacturer OMRON, with a durability of 50 million clicks, that is, its best mouse switches among those made in China, and leaves the Aorus M5 on par with practically all the competition. Practically the only ones who use different switches are Zowie with their Huano and Ducky with OMRONs that apparently are also made in China, but have quality control in Japan.

Ending with the specifications of the Aorus M5, we have a system of weights of 2.5 grams each, which allow adjusting the weight from 118 grams to 130.5g, that is, from a moderately high weight to a very high one, rarely used in eSports but that might please some gamers who want a mouse that feels more solid. They could have left a lower minimum weight, but still the power to choose is appreciated.

We recommend reading our guide to the best mice on the market.

In the press release released by the brand, there has not been a single mention of the price or availability of this Aorus M5.
