Gigabyte Radeon RX 480 G1 GAMING announced. After the official arrival of the GeForce GTX 1060 in its custom versions, the main assemblers are rushing to also announce their models based on the AMD Polaris 10 core that promises to give battle to the new spoiled Nvidia girl.
Gigabyte Radeon RX 480 G1 GAMING: technical characteristics
This time it has been Gigabyte that has shown its proposals with the Gigabyte Radeon RX 480 G1 GAMING that will be available in two versions differentiated by the amount of memory they mount, so we will have a card with 4 GB and another with 8 GB to cover the needs of all pockets.
Now entering its technical characteristics, the new Gigabyte Radeon RX 480 G1 GAMING graphics card has a Polaris 10 GPU made up of 2304 Processors Shaders, 144 TMUs and 32 ROPs that operate at an unknown maximum clock frequency but that is surely higher than 1, 266 MHz of the reference model. Along with the GPU we find the GDDR5 memory with a bandwidth of 256 GB / s and in quantities of 4 GB and 8 GB depending on the chosen model.
All this is mounted on a custom PCB with an 8-pin power connector to support a 6 + 2-phase VRM that promises better electrical stability and the possibility of achieving higher levels of overclocking compared to the reference model. The back of the PCB is covered by an aluminum backplate that is responsible for providing greater rigidity to the assembly while protecting the delicate components.
All this cooled by the Gigabyte WindForce 2X heatsink which is made up of a large aluminum fin radiator and is crossed by three copper heatpipes that are responsible for absorbing the heat generated by the GPU and distributing it over the entire surface of the radiator for its dissipation. All this seasoned by two 90 mm fans with an exclusive design that seeks to reduce the noise generated while offering 23% more air flow compared to its rivals.
The features of the Gigabyte Radeon RX 480 G1 GAMING are completed by advanced Xtreme Engine management software and a configurable lighting system in 16.8 million colors. Its measurements are 232 x 116 x 40 mm.
No details of its availability and price have been given.
