Gigabyte Z370N Wifi technical characteristics

Unboxing and design

The Gigabyte Z370N Wifi comes in a small cardboard box. In the front area we find an image of its Ultra Durable technology, in large letters the name of the model and all the certifications that this small but bulky motherboard incorporates.

While in the rear area we have all the most important technical characteristics of the product.

Inside we find a complete bundle:

  • Gigabyte Z370N Wifi motherboard Back plate. Instruction manual and quick guide. Stickers. Wifi antennas.

The Gigabyte Z370N Wifi is an ITX format motherboard with dimensions of 17cm x 17cm for the LGA 1151 socket. This is only compatible with the 8th generation Intel Coffe Lake processors. As we have mentioned, its design is sober and elegant. It has a black PCB and heat sinks characterized by black and metallic gray tones.

Image of the rear area of the motherboard. For lovers of these views, we must highlight that it incorporates a SLOT M.2 NVME connection (This first socket is not compatible with M.2 SATA) to connect one of the two disks of this format. This is ideal, to get the most out of a very small box.

On cooling, it has two heatsinks that keep its 6 feeding phases in excellent temperatures, to the Z370 chipset and M.2 NVME / SATA disk that share heatsink. A fantastic idea that we have already seen on several motherboards of this type.

Gigabyte has decided to equip the Gigabyte Z370N Wifi with Ultra Durable technology components. What does this mean? Essentially a big difference in quality compared to conventional components. For example, Japanese capacitors have a longer longevity, Gigabyte an anti-sulfur coating that improves the health of the components and good heatsinks to have a stable system.

As in all ITX motherboards, it has a total of 2 32 GB compatible DDR4 RAM memory sockets at speeds of up to 4400 Mhz and the always grateful XMP profile. In addition, we have an internal USB 3.0 connection, an option to erase the BIOS from the options on the board and RGB LED pins.

It features a single PCI Express x16 slots with reinforcement to prevent the graphics card that we install it from bending. Obviously, we can install any high-end GPU.

It incorporates a much improved sound card. It carries the Realtek S1220 audio chip with special components for audio that isolate the interferences of the components much faster and better. It is also fully compatible with high impedance helmets which saves us the cost of acquiring an external sound card.

Add a total of four 6 GB / s SATA III connections with RAID 0.1, 5 and 10 support. The sum of these connections and the double m.2 slot gives us enough storage possibilities in our computer.

On connectivity, it incorporates a dual-band Wifi 802.11 AC wireless network card and the very useful Bluetooth V4.2 connection. Finally we detail all the rear connections of this small but large motherboard:

  • 1 x DisplayPort. 2 x HDMI. 1 x LAN RJ45. 6 x USB 3.0. 1 x USB Type C. 3 x Audio outputs. 1 x Wifi Module for two antennas.

BIOS

Gigabyte presents us with a fairly stable and solid BIOS. It gives us the same confidence as the highest-end models on the market. We believe that Gigabyte has done a great job, and that is that it even allows us to do a little bit of overclocking the all-powerful i7-8700K.

Final words and conclusion about Gigabyte Z370N Wifi

The Gigabyte Z370N Wifi is a small format motherboard: ITX (17 x 17 cm) and a very sober design. It has that elegant touch but it combines great with any component that we decide to install.

We also liked that it incorporates a metallic reinforcement in the PCI Express connection and that the heatsink of the power phases is quite robust. In our tests we have been able to raise up to 4800 MHz in all its cores to our i7-8700k !

Gigabyte takes care of all the details and brings us a total of 4 SATA connections and two M.2 connections. One of them located in the rear area (only compatible with M.2 SATA) while the second "is hidden" under the removable heatsink of the chipset. It is a luxury to be able to cool these units so well on such a small motherboard.

We recommend reading the best processors on the market

We are also happy with the 802.11 AC 2 x 2 client that this motherboard offers and the Gigabit LAN connection signed by Intel. Of course, the sound card lives up to and meets the demands of any gamer.

Its price in online stores is 175 euros. For this price range there is a lot of competition and we believe that you will have to assess whether you are interested in paying an extra for a motherboard with RGB lighting or you prefer to save a few euros and improve your SSD or processor.
