Although the brand name sounds like meme meat, it is a statement of intent. Glorious PC Gaming Race is a brand that does not go around with little girls and always aspires to the highest keeping in mind that PC gamers are the elite of the community.

Glorious Model O Unboxing

You know how it goes: we love to discuss the packaging. With the Glorious Model O they have made a simple and straightforward presentation: matte cardboard box, black and white cover with mouse design and model name printed in silver ink. In the upper corner we can see the brand logo and next to the model a reflective label that indicates the color of the model.

In our case it is glossy or glossy white, but the models can be found in either white or black with or without glossy. In addition, it is possible to choose between two size formats depending on the measurements of our hand to go like a glove

Glorious Model O design

The first thing that powerfully catches the attention of this model is its structure. The casing is partially covered with hexagonal perforations that allow the inner circuit to be seen from both the upper and lower face.

This is something that will catch the attention of all those curious who are fans of the circuits, and even more so when the lighting enters the field of play.

On the left side we find the Glorious PC Gaming Race logo printed in gray. This is where the two side buttons meet. These have a glossy black finish and make a muffled sound when pressed. Between them there is a 1.5 mm gap, which makes them easily distinguishable by running your thumb over them without looking.

On the right hand side we only have the Glorious logo on the side. The RGB lighting strip is also present here as well as the left, covering almost the entire design.

The left and right mouse buttons are built as separate pieces, also die cut. The scroll wheel for its part has two RGB bands on both sides and is lined in non-slip rubber with a grooved relief finish. Its turning movement is quite silent, and just below it we find the configurable DPI switch with the same finish as that of the side buttons.

At the base we have a total of four extremely smooth surfers with rounded edges. Also here is the die cutting responsible for minimizing the weight of the product. The Glorious Model O cable is not removable. It is a braided pattern that is lined in a fairly thick fabric and is extremely flexible. This proprietary format is the Ascend Cord and has a generous length of 2m ending as always in a USB type A port reinforced with PVC.

Sensitivity, acceleration and DPI test

A common thing in our mouse analyzes is to test the sensor and its acceleration with 800 base DPI. In general the movement is very, very smooth due to how polished your surfers are, but there is a palpable difference between using the Glorious Model O on a cloth mat and a plastic one. Obviously, although the sensitivity is the same, we can perceive a greater resistance on the fabric, while on plastic it will glide much more smoothly.

Remember that semi-rigid plastic or glass mats can more easily wear mouse surfers due to their greater hardness.

We can't talk about sensitivity and not mention the sensor on the Glorious Model O, the PIXART PMW-3360. This is today one of the best sensors from the manufacturer, with a maximum of 12, 000 DPI, 250 IPS and an acceleration force of 50g. Currently it is only surpassed by the PMW 3389 model (with 16, 000 DPI, 400 IPS and 50g), making it a titan within its class. The technical characteristics of the sensor are optimized by the design of the mouse itself, and it is that with only 68g of weight it practically flies over the mat. If in addition the one you use is made of plastic, it practically floats.

Whenever we make a change in a peripheral as important as the mouse and keyboard, there is a small adaptation period, since although we establish the same number of DPI to which we are accustomed, the weight and the new shape will make it feel different.

Is an ultralight mouse preferable? It depends. There are players who feel more secure with a mouse that gives them a certain weight, but undoubtedly the lighter models feel less wrist because less force is required. In our case, we come from a significantly larger and heavier model (125g) and the difference has been very noticeable, especially in terms of speed.

Ergonomics

The Glorious Model O is a comfortable mouse. The model that we have had the opportunity to test may be more suitable for medium or small hands. However, a slightly larger variant is available for larger hands.

Regarding its grip, it lends itself well enough to all of them. Users of small hands will find that the palmar support can be especially comfortable, for my part I am claw and frankly the feeling is also quite satisfactory although its central hump is not too high. For this same reason, those who play with their fingertips should not encounter any problems.

RGB lighting

Do you like the Fever roll on Saturday night ? Because we are crazy and if you are looking for a disco-party mouse, the Glorious Model O will come as a ring to your finger.

Here you have a sample of how the interior of the mouse is also illuminated thanks to the RGB LED bands that run along the sides, making its motherboard even more visible. The wheel as we mentioned at the beginning also has lighting.

A mouse worth its salt always comes with software, even if it is to increase the level of psychedelia in the little lights. Obviously not everything, but certainly the most eye-catching. The Glorious Model O offers five customizable profiles to save in the internal memory, so it is not necessary to have the software always active. In these profiles we can calibrate both their DPI and the corresponding LED lighting. It is also possible to have them all disabled except one to avoid accidents in the middle of a game.

Other sections of interest are lighting, level of detail (laser) refresh rate, and response time between mouse clicks. Complete, huh? As it could not be less and to put the icing on the cake we also have the macro profiles and customization of mouse buttons, which are editable from scratch to make them ours down to the smallest detail.

Final words and conclusions about Glorious Model O

The Glorious Model O is an effective mouse and very prepared for what the expert user can expect from it. Having the PIXART PMW 3360 sensor is undoubtedly one of its strongest points, together with its extremely light weight. The RGB lighting stands out spectacularly thanks to the die-cut design or its structure, which allows us to see the interior and gives an even more special touch to the mouse model.

However, we understand that for some users, perforations may be a problem with respect to dust, sweat or dirt, so although aesthetically it is very attractive, it is a very personal matter when evaluating whether it is practical or not. We certainly would not recommend it to those who are used to eating chips while playing.

For its part, the software is very complete and offers advanced options that will undoubtedly draw the attention of the most inveterate players. Obviously we are talking about the characteristics to be modified in refresh rates and response times between mouse clicks (advanced option that the program itself warns before playing). These options accompany classics such as DPI settings, macros and lighting, so we do not consider that it lacks anything. It is easy to use, although its biggest flaw may be that it is currently only available in English.

Its starting price starts from € 59.96 and frankly taking into account the sensor, software and design it deserves every euro. It is possible that some lack the non-slip rubber sides or they are not convinced by the secondary buttons, although it is a matter that is to the liking of the consumer. For our part, we consider that the Glorious Model O measures up and stands out above the competition models of the same price. Without a doubt, its design and RGB lighting make it the most striking mouse we have analyzed to date.
