On September 30, Apple announced the arrival of new iPad Pro completely redesigned and much more powerful that were accompanied by the second generation of Apple Pencil, an accessory that if in its first generation already changed the way in which many of us interact with Our iPads, now promises much more, speeding up and improving our digital writing in applications like GoodNotes.

GoodNotes and Apple Pencil 2

The Apple Pencil 2 not only comes with a new shorter design in matte white, built in a single piece without a cap and with wireless charging, but it incorporates something much more important for day-to-day life: it reacts when touched and allows a double tap gesture we can, for example, switch between the different GoodNotes tools.

GoodNotes is, in my opinion, the best handwriting application on the iPad, and its managers have been quick and agile in incorporating support for the new iPad Pro and Apple Pencil 2.

From the beginning of this month, if you have acquired the new apple products, you can use the double tap on Apple Pencil 2 for tasks such as the following:

  • Toggle between current tool and eraser Toggle between the tool you are using and the last tool you used Show or hide the color palette for pen and marker

There is no doubt that with this new function, users who write on the iPad using GoodNotes will save a lot of time and their writing will become much more fluid: they will no longer have to go to the toolbar to change tools or to delete, just with touching the pencil that they have in their hand to do it without moving away from their writing.

You can choose any of these three preferred actions from the iOS Settings panel on your iPad Pro, although I recommend that you try all three before deciding the one that suits you best.
