Google faces new fine for Android

Now, the company faces a possible new fine, this time for Android. And it seems that it could be an astronomical figure like the previous time. What is the reason for the possible fine this time? We tell you more.

Fine for Android

As many of you already know, Android is Open Source in itself. Therefore, in theory, Google does not force anyone to install or pre-install anything. But, we haven't looked at the fine print. Since, although manufacturers are not required to install Google applications as standard, the reality is quite different.

In reality, the problem manufacturers face is that they can either include it all or nothing. There are no half measures. In the Google Mobile Application Distribution Agreement, there is a section that states that to pre-install Google applications, you must pass a compatibility test. But, it seems that the applications have to go together. Therefore, if a mobile phone includes Gmail, then Chrome, Maps or the rest of Google apps must be there.

Google says it is so because everything is designed to work together. Although, from the European Union they understand it in another way. They think it damages third-party services and applications. Therefore, a fine may come soon. What do you think?
