Microsoft continues to try to cope with the reign of the iPad Pro, and it seems that this time it could go in the right direction. As was rumored for a few weeks, the technology giant has released a new tablet in its Surface series, which it has called Surface Go, a name that, without a doubt, tries to mark its portability.

Lighter and smaller than the Surface Pro, the Surface Go has dimensions of 9.6 by 6.9 by 0.3 inches and weighs just 1.2 pounds (about 545 grams). The device features a 10-inch PixelSense 3: 2 screen with 1800 by 1200 resolution that dominates the front of the device, although considerable frames still persist on each of the four sides of the screen.

The base model of the Surface Go starts at $ 399 and includes 64 GB of internal eMMC flash storage and 4 GB of RAM. But those users who require greater benefits can opt for a model of $ 549 that includes 128 GB of SSD storage and 8 GB of RAM. Both one and the other model arrive in a Wi-Fi only version, without the possibility of accessing a version with mobile connectivity.

Orders in the form of a reservation have started on July 10, while shipments are scheduled to start at an undetermined time in early August.

Models with LTE connectivity and 256GB versions of the Surface Go's internal storage are slated to go on sale sometime after the tablet's official launch on August 2.

An aspect that deserves to be mentioned as it differentiates this Microsoft Surface tablet compared to previous models is the presence of a USB-C connector. The Surface Go is the first tablet in the range to feature an integrated USB-C 3.1 port, the universal connector already found in Apple's MacBook and MacBook Pro as well, and which seems destined to be the future, even in the near future. iPhone chargers.
