Google and raspberry pi join forces for the development of artificial intelligence

Google is focusing its attention on Raspberry Pi and the entire developer community around this mini-PC platform. Google's goal is to offer a series of tools for the development of artificial intelligence and machine learning with these Raspberry Pi devices.

Google is doing a survey for the entire Raspberry Pi 'maker' community, where they are asked which fields are most interesting to them. With the survey in hand, it follows that Google is going to offer tools not only to boost artificial intelligence, but also other fields such as robotics, IoT, 3D printers, wearables and home automation.

Within artificial intelligence, Google places special emphasis on facial recognition and emotion recognition, as well as natural language recognition and speech-to-text conversion, the latter would be great, why not?

Devices could get 'Google AI' technologies like image and voice recognition. For example, a home robot or a drone might be able to better recognize objects with Google tools, or be able to answer queries. Google provides APIs (application programming interfaces) so that the services can be modified in the gadgets.

Google's involvement in the field of Raspberry Pi and the entire 'maker' community could encourage others to develop new artificial intelligence projects based on the Raspberry Pi. Although there are already facial recognition projects based on this platform, the involvement of Google would be essential to accelerate that process.

Some of the tools from Google, which offered its Tensorflow platform months ago, are expected to arrive later this year, as in the case of machine learning.
