Anonim

With the invention of USB storage devices compact discs are almost disappearing. Although they could still be useful for making backups of our files or for recording music or movie discs. For this same reason today we are going to see in a new step by step how we can burn Windows 10 DVDs or any other type of disc without the need to install any external application.

Index of contents

Windows gives us the possibility of recording this type of media without the need to install external applications. We only need to insert the disk and through the explorer functions we can do these tasks. Next, we will explain in detail what possibilities we have.

Burn Windows 10 DVD from multisession files

The first thing we are going to see is the possibility of burning a DVD with any type of files and also with the possibility of being able to do it at different times, without the first recording being closed. What has been a multi-session album of a lifetime.

  • First of all we are going to insert the DVD in the reading unit of the equipment. We see our drive as "DVD RW" with capacity for 4.38 GB

  • We double click on it to start the recording wizard.

We are shown two options: we can burn the DVD as a USB flash drive or as a CD or DVD player. In order to make a multisession DVD we will have to choose the first option: "Like a USB flash drive"

  • Click on "Next"

The wizard will now format the DVD to behave like a USB drive. It will take a few seconds to perform this procedure, so we must be patient and do not remove the unit at any time.

With the "formatted" disk, it will appear in the file explorer as a normal USB drive. Of course, we can record, but not delete files, we are facing a DVD. In order to do this it should be a rewritable DVD.

Burning files

Now all we have to do is select the files we want to send to the DVD so that they are recorded. You have to be sure what you want to save, because once you select "Send to DVD RW drive" they will be saved automatically.

Now if we go to the DVD drive and go in, we see that our file has been burned correctly.

To extract the DVD we will only have to right-click and choose "Eject". It will take a few seconds to carry out the appropriate actions until the unit is ready, let's be patient and don't force the reader. The DVD will eject by itself

To record new files, we will only have to select them and choose "Send to… DVD RW" again so that they are recorded on the DVD. This is how we can burn DVD Window10 in multisession mode.

To burn a multi-session CD of files we will do exactly the same steps as to burn a Windows 10 DVD of this type. We will only have to insert the corresponding CD in the recording unit.

Burn DVD Windows 10 multimedia

In addition to the previous option, Windows also offers us the possibility of recording movies so that they can be played on any specific device for these purposes. Of course, these must be in a format that the player in question can read, since we will not have a converter to DVD format itself. Let's see what we should do.

  • With the DVD inserted, double click on it again to open the recording wizard. Now we must choose the second option: “With a CD or DVD player”. In this way the unit can be played on a DVD player, for example, on our TV.

After clicking "next" a window will open where we must perform the necessary actions.

In this window we must enter the movie or movies that we want to record. We must bear in mind that DVDs have a storage of approximately 4.3 GB, so surely we can only insert a movie on it.

Once we have entered the movie we want to record, we will go to the toolbar, specifically "Manage". Here we will choose "End recording" and a new wizard will open to finish recording our DVD.

After clicking "Next" the DVD will start burning. Now it's time to wait patiently for it to finish to see the results.

Once the DVD is burned, the assistant will ask us if we want to burn another disc, and the unit will automatically eject the DVD.

Please note that once the DVD is burned in this format, it will not be possible to insert more content on it

Burn Audio CD or MP3 Windows 10

Another possibility that we will have is to record a normal audio CD (80 minutes) or in MP3 format (700 MB).

For this we must again choose the option "With a CD or DVD player" at the start of the recording wizard. In this case what we want is to record a CD that is playable on any audio player.

An empty window will open where we will have to enter the audio files that we want to record. We must bear in mind that if we want to do it in a standard format, the total number of songs should not exceed 80 minutes, since in this case the space is not taken into account but the audio minutes.

Now we will not go to the toolbar and we will choose the option of "Manage". Within this the option "End recording".

The respective window that starts the recording wizard will open. We can choose the speed and title of the disc. Click on "Next". And this is what we were referring to earlier:

  • If we choose the first option, the CD will be recorded in standard 80-minute audio format If we choose the second option, the CD will be recorded in the format in which the songs are, for example, MP3 and then we can record as many as we want until completing 700MB of the disk.

In any case, when we decide what action to take, we will only have to click "Next" and the CD will begin to burn.

Burn Windows 10 DVD to DVD format with Free Video to DVD Converter

Since Windows 10 does not have a function to burn movie DVDs in the format itself, it will be necessary to use an external program for this.

The program that we will use is available for free, at least for the function that interests us and in Spanish on its official page. To install it we only have to follow the wizard step by step and without complications. Once executed, we will have different buttons above to navigate through the products offered by the software. Each of these options will be marked in shaded color if we do not have them available and in normal color if we have them.

We are interested in the one located on the "Record" button called: "Free video to DVD converter" that we actually have available. Click on it. A window will appear where we will have to select the movie that we want to record in DVD format. We can configure various parameters:

  • DVD, NTSC, or PAL format type File output quality. The higher the quality, the more space is used. (Note that below we will have a bar informing us at all times of what the movie clip on our DVD will occupy). Other various options.

Ending

When we have everything seen for sentencing, click on "Create DVD" and the process will begin. This program will not install any watermark on our DVD so it is really free.

The process will take several minutes, so we must be patient and wait for the video to change format and the disc to be burned.

Here you have all the options that Windows offers to burn discs if you use external programs, obviously the last one does not fall within these options. Since we do not have the option to record in DVD format from Windows, it has been necessary to find an external program that performs these functions.

What program do you use or did you use to burn CDs and DVDs? If this step by step has been useful to you, leave it to us in the comments.
