Helio a22: the new mid-range processor from mediatek

MediaTek presents a new family of processors, that of the Helio A. This new family arrives led by its new Helio A22 processor that has already been officially announced. It is a mid-range, which seeks to compete directly with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 family. And which further shows the advancement of the Chinese brand in the production of processors.

The Helio A22 has a total of four Cortes A-53 cores, combined with a PowerVR GE GPU. Thanks to this, it promises to be faster than its competitors, as the Chinese brand claims. It will be able to reach a top speed of 2 GHz, which is 0.05 GHz faster than Snapdragon 459. The processor will be able to use both LPDDR3 and LPDDR4x memories, depending on what the phone manufacturer wants to use.

It will have 4/6 GB support in these cases. In addition, this Helio A22 is manufactured in 12nm architecture. It is one of the first of the brand to be built in this architecture, so it is an important step for the firm. It will have support for single 21 MP cameras or double 13 + 8 MP cameras. In addition, it will have facial unlocking with artificial intelligence.

This processor can be found in the Xiaomi Redmi 6A, although it is expected that other models will soon follow in making use of it. We will see what models are soon.
