The arrival of the first HTC One smartphone was accompanied by a new technology in the rear camera sensor, the UltraPixel technology that did not give the expected result and had to be scrapped in its successor as it could not compete with its rivals.
HTC does not give up and the new HTC One M10 will again include UltraPixel technology, this time a version that seems much improved and should have no problem competing with its rivals, at least on paper. This new camera will have a resolution of 12 megapixels and will be accompanied by a laser focus and optical stabilization system.
What is UltraPixel?
UltraPixel technology consists of using larger pixels each to capture more light and improve photos in low light situations.
The downside is that increasing the size of the pixels causes the number of these to decrease, the HTC One had only 4 megapixels, a figure that does not look very good compared to the competing solutions of 12 megapixels or more. Everything seems to indicate that the new HTC 12-megapixel UltraPixel camera will definitely have a better reception than its predecessor.
