Intel 760p shows what it is capable of

Intel 760p and 660p are the new NVMe drives that the company is about to put on the market. The guys at Tom's Hardware have taken several samples of the first and have not hesitated to test it to see its capabilities.

This is how the Intel 760p performs

With this we already know the performance of the Intel 760p in its versions of 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB of capacity. As expected, the 128 GB model is the slowest of all, but it is not without reason interesting, it achieves sequential read and write speeds of 1500 MB / s and 650 MB / s respectively, and a 4K random performance of 100, 000 IOPS, which sets it apart from the best drives on the market but clearly puts it above the SATA III.

All the details of the Toshiba RC100, the NVMe SSD for all budgets

We went up to the 256 GB model and we find already interesting speeds of 2900 MB / s and 1300 MB / s, we see that we are starting to get closer to the figures offered by the best discs based on the NVMe protocol. The rest of the models have an identical performance among them with figures of 3200 MB / s in sequential reading and a performance in 4K random operations of 350, 000 / 280, 000 IOPS.

This means that models of 512 GB and above are very close to the limit of what can be achieved with the NVMe protocol and the PCI Express 3.0 x4 interface. These new records will hit the market throughout the month of February, nothing has been said about prices yet, so we will have to wait a little longer to know if they are really worth it or if it is better to opt for solutions from other manufacturers such as Samsung or Corsair, which until now have been the leaders in the sector.
