Finally the day has come for the official announcement of the new ninth generation Intel Core processors, with the Core i9 9900K and Core i7 9700K models as the company's new flagships for the LGA 1151 platform.

Core i9 9900K, Core i7 9700K and Core i5 9600K processors announced

Core i9 9900K, Core i7 9700K and Core i5 9600K are the new Intel processors manufactured in 14 nm +++ Tri-Gate, a highly refined manufacturing process that has allowed to increase the frequencies compared to the eighth generation without increasing consumption. Another important novelty is the return to the use of soldering to unite the IHS with the die of the processor, thus improving the cooling of these chips.

Core i9 9900K (530 euros) is the new processor of 8 cores and 16 threads of processing, which come at a frequency of 4.7 GHz that goes up to 5 GHz in turbo mode. This processor includes 16 MB of L3 cache and maintains a TDP of 95W. The Core i7 9700K (400 euros) is one step below, offering 8 cores and 8 threads at 4.6 / 4.9 GHz (it is the first Core i7 in history without HT). This has a 12 MB L3 c aché and a 95W TDP.

The Core i5 9600K (280 euros) has also been announced, consisting of 6 cores and 6 threads at 4.3 / 4.6 GHz. The cache is reduced in this case to 9 MB, and the TDP of 95W is maintained as it is an unlocked model for overclocking. In this case, no solder is used to join the die to the IHS, instead, the thermal paste continues to be used as it has been done up to now.

All these processors are compatible with the current 300 series motherboards, although to get the most out of them it is recommended to make the jump to the new Z390 chipset. Now available to pre-order, they go on sale on October 19.
