Intel today unveiled the new Intel Xeon D-2100 processor, a chip (SoC) designed to meet the needs of Edge applications and other data center or network applications limited by space and power.

Xeon D-2100 is the new generation of Intel Xeon processors

The Intel Xeon D-2100 processor is an upgraded version of today's Intel Xeon, where network operators and cloud service providers face the need to continually grow in performance and capacity without increasing power consumption.

Intel today launched the new Xeon-D family with integrated Intel Mesh technology. All CPUs will boost up to 3.0 GHz in single-threaded applications, but the highest turbo for all cores is 2.8 GHz. The base clock ranges from 1.6 to 2.2 GHz.

The D2100 series is divided into three groups: Edge Servers, Network Edge and SKUs that support Intel Quick Assist.

Characteristics:

  • Up to 18 cores and 36 threads Up to 512 GB DD4-2666 quad-channel ECC Up to 3.0 GHz speed with Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 technology single core Up to 32 lanes PCI Express 3.0 Up to 20 lanes Flexible and configurable high-speed power supply Intel Mesh Architecture Technology 14nm optimized from Intel

The prices of these new chips will vary depending on the model, from $ 213 (Xeon D-2123IT) to the more advanced models of $ 2, 400 (Xeon D-2191).
