Table of contents:
Along with the announcement of Apple Mac Pro, Intel has released its second generation of Xeon W processors. In total, nine new Cascade Lake-based workstation processors were released.
Xeon W series is renewed with nine second-generation processors
All processors have the same features, including support for AVX-512 with 2 FMA units, as well as support for up to 1 TiB of hexadecimal channel DDR4-2933 memory. There are two additional models with "M" suffixes that have 2 TiB extended memory media. The maximum TDP has been changed to 205 W (255 W for Xeon W-3175X), and the memory has been changed to DDR4-2933 / 2 TB maximum.
PCI-Express 3.0 is up to 64 lines and the memory channel is 6 channels. In addition, a total of nine models will be prepared, starting with the 28-core, 56-wire “ W-3275M ”, which would be the most powerful model in this line with frequencies from 2.5 GHz to 4.4 GHz maximum, and 4.5 GHz with Turbo Max 3.0.

The most modest processor in the line is the Intel Xeon W 3223 with 8 cores and 16 threads and frequencies from 3.5 GHz to 4.0 GHz (4.2 GHz with Turbo Max 3.0)
A new feature that Intel added to the 3200 series is Turbo Boost Max 3.0. Interestingly, according to Ark, neither supports Optane DC memories. Currently Ark also lists those processors as having 64 PCIe tracks instead of 48 like all other Xeon. This could be a typo, we'll find out later when Intel clarifies this.
