Intel burn test: how to check the stability of your cpu

Table of contents:

Recovering the dynamics of other older articles, today we are going to talk about software that will help us test our CPU . We are talking about Intel Burn Test , a simple application that today we will test on a Ryzen processor. Do you think it will work or will it really burn our unit?

Intel Burn Test, the app to test CPUs

In our case, we have used an AMD Ryzen 5 3600X to do these tests (“sinners!” Well, a little yes). As we understand it, Intel Burn Test is designed to put Intel units under pressure, but as you can see they work here without problem.

Returning to the topic, once we finish the test, we will see a window similar to this one, where they will offer us a little extra information.

WE RECOMMEND YOU AMD is at a standstill on its RAM production

In our case, the tests completed successfully, so there is no problem. Of course, we will need to use an auxiliary program to track the status of the CPU .

HWMonitor

As you can see here, the temperatures to which we expose the component are not extreme, but they are considerably high. In fact, at the end of the test we saw a maximum of 93ºC , a little higher than captured.

If you have a fairly efficient cooling system, we assure you that your team will appreciate it.

Finally, we will talk about the About button, which we have not commented before. As is normal in this class of functions, it shows us some information about the creator and the program, although it focuses especially on Prime95 .

Since they are programmed for similar things, the author of the program wants to put a special emphasis on the advantages over the competition.

As a comment, we warn you that the PayPal button does not work, so you do not need to press it.

Final words on Intel Burn Test

This small program is quite good, for the few options that it leaves us. However, we believe that there are other, more efficient, complete and better programs in general for this task.

For example, not too long ago we did an OCCT article, which is capable of stress tests without time limits, as well as benchmarks and monitoring.

However, in order to stress the computer as much as possible and check its stability, we believe that the most used program is Prime95 . Although it does not stress the components as much, it is a program that is more at hand, it is somewhat more configurable and it is certainly more popular.

Unlike other programs focused on a single topic, we believe that Intel Burn Test does not offer us enough specificity.

We do not have any differentiating option, it is not very detailed and its interface is not complicated, but it is not friendly either. The only thing we would like to emphasize is that it is a program that does not require installation, so you can carry it on a USB stick.

We hope you were interested in the article and that you have learned something new. However, now write us: what do you think about Intel Burn Test ? What program would you use to check the stability of your CPU? Share your ideas in the comment box.
