Intel coffee lake shows its mono performance
Table of contents:
Intel Coffee Lake will be the new generation of processors that will arrive to face the successful AMD Ryzen based on Zen architecture. This new generation of Intel will make the leap to the six physical cores in the mainstream range after many years anchored in the four nuclei. Coffee Lake has been through Cinebench to showcase its excellent single-wire potential.
Intel Coffee Lake impresses at Cinebench
The most powerful processor will be the Core i7 8700K consisting of 6 cores and 12 processing threads, this chip works at a base frequency of 3.7 GHz that goes up to 4.7 GHz in turbo mode to offer extraordinary performance in all situations. A very high frequency that makes it the absolute king of Cinebench with a score of 218 points in the single-thread performance test.
Possible Intel Core i3-8300: 4 cores + HyperThreading and 4 GHz frequency
We also have the Core i5 8600K which will be made up of the same 6 cores although with only 6 threads due to the absence of Hyperthreading. Its base and turbo operating frequencies are 3.6 GHz and 4.3 GHz, making it capable of achieving a 192-point Cinebench single-wire score.
With this it is quite clear that Intel Coffee Lake will have enormous power in single-core processes thanks to a very efficient architecture and its ability to reach very high operating frequencies. Without a doubt the biggest leap taken by Intel in many years and coming after Ryzen processors have brought AMD back into the game after many years without being a real alternative.
Along with Coffee Lake will come the new 300 series motherboards, it is unclear if they will be compatible with the current 200 series.
