Next-gen Intel core i3 could come with hyperthreading

New information has emerged in the last few hours about the next lower-end Intel processors, the Intel Core i3.

With its 10th generation of major desktop processors, Intel is preparing to make some major changes. If the current leaks are correct, HyperThreading technology would be reaching the entire line of Core i3 processors, creating processors with four cores and eight threads. This represents a 2-fold increase in the number of cores / threads for i3, which is a big step forward for the most basic chips in a PC, where the standard would be 4 cores and 8 threads.

The Intel i3-10100 processor has appeared in the SiSoftware database, via TUM_APISAK . The CPU comes with four cores, eight threads, and a base clock speed of 3.6 GHz. Not bad for what appears to be a low-end model.

Comet Lake will be the next 14nm series of Intel processors, and Intel's entire range of Core processors are rumored to include HyperThreading, with a 10-core i9 processor on top. This would give the i5 six cores and twelve threads, the i7 eight cores and sixteen threads and the i9 ten cores and twenty threads. In this way, the i3 line would occupy four cores and eight threads.

Intel Comet Lake desktop processors would go on sale in early 2020, giving AMD enough time to launch its 16-core Ryzen 9 3950X processor.
