Intel discontinues production of skylake processors

The Intel Skylake architecture, which debuted with the Intel 6000 series of processors, appears to have come to an end. Intel typically maintains no more than two architectures on the market simultaneously, and for this reason the company decided to end the series of processors based on the Skylake architecture.

The new move by Intel is only intended to allow the company to maximize its profits and leave behind one of its biggest competitors, AMD, which offered products based on the Bulldozer architecture and other derivatives.

According to Intel, Skylake processors will still be available for purchase until March 2018, and their distribution will end in September 2018. Meanwhile, Intel is now preparing for the launch of the new Coffee Lake-S architecture, the most powerful model of which will be the Core i7-8700K with 6 cores and 12 threads. The arrival date of the new processing architecture will be October 5, according to the latest information on the web.
