A SemiAccurate report today stated that Intel has significantly delayed its "complete roadmap for servers." Furthermore, a follow-up report by Wells Fargo analyst Aaron Rakers, who cites the SemiAccurate report, seemed to reaffirm that Intel has encountered yet another obstacle on its way to recovering from its incessant 10nm delays, thereby affecting the delivery of Ice Lake for the data center.

Intel denies delays in its roadmap for Cooper Lake, Ice Lake and Sapphire Rapids servers

Intel had to go out to make clarifications on this matter, denying all this information:

When asked if he was "reconfirming that Ice Lake will go on sale in the second half of 2020, " Murty replied "yes."

Intel's delays have left the door open for AMD to capitalize on its capable EPYC Rome processors and heightened industry interest in alternative architectures, such as ARM. Another delay in the roadmap would be fatal to Intel's aspirations.
