The company ASPEED has provided its roadmap for the next two years due to the departure of its AST2600s . According to the information, the Intel Eagle Stream platform will arrive by early 2021 and will bring support for the successor to Ice Lake-SP . This micro-architecture will arrive in the second half of 2020 due to various problems that have delayed it.

Intel Eagle Stream

The roadmap has been published by the company itself, although it was leaked via Twitter, where the output of the Intel Eagle Stream platform is shown . There is nothing confirmed, but from the representation of the image it seems that it will come out quite early in 2021.

On the other hand, the protagonist of the news, Intel Eagle Stream, will be a platform with support for two simultaneous processors: Sapphire Rapids (10nm ++) and Granite Rapids (7nm) in 2021 and 2022, respectively. Although nothing is confirmed, different leaks have revealed this data as well as support for DDR5 , PCIe Gen 5 and CXL .

As we see, despite the delay of Intel Ice Lake-SP for the second half of 2020 , the release schedule has not changed much (Sapphire Rapids) .

As expected, Intel expects to increase its data center cadence by offering new platforms every 4-5 quarters of a year, in other words, roughly every year and a half. Obviously, this development plan would apply after the departure of Intel Ice Lake-SP .
