Intel eagle stream will arrive in early 2021 to replace ice lake

With the launch of its AST2600 server motherboard management controller, Aspeed provided a roadmap that puts the Intel Eagle Stream Data Center chip launch in early 2021, making it a successor. Fast from Ice Lake-SP, which Intel recently delayed until the second half of 2020.
Intel Eagle Stream will arrive in early 2021
The roadmap comes from Aspeed and appears on Twitter. It shows that Intel will launch Eagle Stream in 2021. Its placement indicates that the product will launch at the beginning of the year. Eagle Stream is the company's data center platform that will succeed the 2020 Whitley platform, consisting of Cooper Lake-SP in the first half and Ice Lake-SP in the second half of 2020.

Intel Eagle Stream will also be a platform for two processors: Sapphire Rapids (10nm ++) in 2021 and Granite Rapids (7nm) in 2022. Although Intel has not yet formally announced the platform, its name and the two processors appeared in a leak in early this year, along with information that it supports DDR5, PCIe 5.0, and CXL.
Intel said it would speed up the cadence of its data center to launch a new generation of processors every four to five quarters as well.
Aspeed is the leading provider of motherboard management controllers (BMCs). As Serve The Home explained, it is a chip that is present on virtually all server motherboards and provides administrator functions over the network (such as reboot), without the administrator having to physically go to the server. The new AST2600 now has three cores (two arm A7s and one M3) and 2GB of DDR4.
