Intel is set to begin shipping 10nm processors in late 2017, as stated during the company's Q3 2017 earnings consultation, Intel has plans to start increasing production in early 2018 and launch products. and systems based on the new manufacturing process during the second half of 2018.

Intel ensures that its 10 nm are unrivaled

10nm is a huge leap for Intel, so much so that they claim that their new 10nm process is a "whole generation ahead" of what the competition will be able to offer. Its new 10nm manufacturing node offers 2.7x the transistor density of its existing 14nm existing node, allowing Intel to create much smaller microprocessors with increased power and efficiency.

We are on track to ship our first low volume 10 nanometer piece by the end of the year. Then will come the initial ramp in the first half of 2018, with high volume and system availability in the second half of 2018.

Intel is expected to launch new consumer products manufactured at 10nm in mid to late 2018, although on the other hand these products are expected to hit mobile markets first as power consumption and size features are much more relevant than on the desk.

The first Intel processors manufactured at 10nm should be the Cannon Lake, which has already suffered several delays and will come with important innovations such as the new AVX-512 instructions.
