Intel today announced the expansion of its Coffee Lake processor family , with the introduction of new models, along with new chipsets cheaper than the Z370. We tell you all the details about the latest from Intel.

Intel Launches New Coffee Lake Processors and Chipsets

Intel has released the new Celeron G4900 and G4920 processors, both manufactured at 14nm and with a dual-core, dual-wire configuration , at frequencies of 3.1 GHz and 3.2 GHz respectively. We continue with the Pentium Gold G5400, G5500 and G5600, with a configuration of two cores and four threads, at frequencies of 3.70 GHz, 3.80 GHz and 3.90 GHz.

We left the Pentium and Celeron ranges and we found the Core i3-8300 quad-core and four-wire, at a frequency of 3.7 GHz and an L3 cache of 8 MB to be between the i3-8100 and i3-8350K. We continue with the Core i5-8500 six-core and six-wire, at a base frequency of 3 GHz and a maximum turbo of 4.1 GHz. Finally, the Core i5-8600 has been announced , with a base speed of 3.1 GHz and a turbo of 4.2 GHz.

Along with them, the new Intel H370, B360 and H310 chipsets have been announced, to offer cheaper motherboards than those based on the top of the range, the Z370. The arrival of these new chipsets was something very necessary to make the Coffee Lake platform more attractive, since until now we could only buy Z370 motherboards, which do not make sense for processors that do not allow overclocking. If you want to learn more about the differences between these chipsets, we recommend reading our dedicated post.
