Without making much noise, a new low-end processor has come out that has a target price of 100 euros. We are talking about the Intel Core i3-9100F.

Intel launches the low-end processor Core i3-9100F without GPU integrated for about 100 euros

The Intel Core i3-9100F 'Coffee Lake' chip is already available in stores and it is a 4-core processor without Hyper-Threading that works at a speed of 3.60 GHz and frequencies 'boost' 4.2 GHz. The amount of cache memory is 6 MB and has a TDP 65 W. Needless to say, it is a processor made with a node of 14 nm, so there are no surprises here.

Recently Intel has added the letter 'F' to the nomenclature of its processors to warn that these are chips without integrated graphics. The i3-9100F is one of the last CPUs to join this family.

Apparently, this chip is intended to compete with the Ryzen 3 1200 or Ryzen 3 2200G with the same number of cores and TDP, although these two are still cheaper than the Intel variant and the 2200G comes with an integrated GPU. Therefore, this chip should have some performance advantage to justify its purchase over an AMD chip. Even, at the time of writing these lines, we could opt for a Ryzen 5 1400 for 110 euros and we would have a 4-core and 8-thread processor.

The possibilities are many in that price segment, so the Intel Core i3-9100F comes at a time of a lot of competition in the low range.
