Intel to launch 6-core mainstream processors in September
Table of contents:
There is no doubt that the arrival of AMD Ryzen has caused Intel to put the batteries after more than five years offering practically the same processors year after year. The Ryzen 7 1700 offers us 8 physical cores for a price very similar to the Core i7-7700K with only four cores, something that has made many users bet on the new solution by Sunnyvale based on the Zen micro-architecture. Intel will launch processors 6-core mainstream in September.
Coffee Lake would finally arrive in September
With this Intel has put its batteries charged and is already preparing the arrival of a new Z370 mainstream platform that will be the biggest change in many years, new six-core processors based on the new Coffee Lake architecture. These new processors will be based on the 14nm Tri-Gate manufacturing process and will have a TDP of around 95W for models with the multiplier unlocked. On the other hand, the quad-core models and those with the multiplier locked will come with a TDP of 65W for greater energy efficiency. The first Coffee Lake-based processors would arrive in September of this year 2017 while the rest of the models will do so already entered 2018 along with the mid-range B350 and H370 chipsets.
