Intel will release a second revision of the 8 series chipset: z87 / h87 / b87 and q87 (intel haswell)
Three months before the launch of the new Intel Haswell processors: Intel i5-4670k and Intel i7-4770k we report exclusively. The possible failure or bug in the 8 series chipset: Z87, H87, Q87 and B87 with the USB 3.0 controller. The media echoed and Intel reported that the error would be fixed with a driver update via software and its processors would not be affected.
It seems that it has not been possible to fix it and this coming July 29 will begin to market the first motherboards with the second revision of the Chip "C2".
Many of you may ask yourself: I have purchased an 8 series board and I have not had any problems. What problem should I have with USB 3.0 connections?
Basically it is that when our equipment goes into sleep mode (C3 energy saving mode) and we send it to its "wake up", all USB 3.0 connections. they will not be detected by our PC. Forcing us to reconnect them for proper operation.
How do I know that my board has the C1 chipset (First revision)?
We need to download the latest version of CPU-Z, click here. We go to the “Motherboard” tab, we look at the south bridge / Southbridge. If the Rev section is 04 it is the first revision, if it is 05 it is the new revision C2.
The first plates that will remove the second reivisión will be:
- Intel H87MCIntel DH87RLIntel DZ87KLT-75KIntel DB85FLIntel DQ87PG
We do not know if, as happened with the P67 chipset in socket 1155, Intel will be responsible for the change of motherboards for free to the rest of the manufacturers. If they finally choose not to do it, more than one user will not buy from them again.
How do we know if our board is revision b3?
Those of us who have been affected by the motherboards with the P67 B2 chipset, and have made our RMA, have wondered if the motherboard really was a B3.
