Canonical has announced that several models of seventh generation Intel NUC Mini PCs have received a certification for their Ubuntu operating system, this means that the perfect operation of this GNU / Linux distribution is guaranteed on these computers.

Ubuntu 16.04 LTS has received the certification for the seventh generation Intel NUC, thus guaranteeing full compatibility of all its components with this operating system.

Only Ubuntu 16.04 LTS Xenial Xerus is currently certified for use on these devices, this does not prevent the installation of the new Ubuntu 18.04, but it does not have the certificate, which means that there may be some compatibility problems.

Intel NUCs come in various configurations. Some are fully assembled PCs with chassis, fan, power supply, motherboard, CPU, and Windows 10 operating system. Others come in kit mode with only the motherboard and CPU.
