Intel Core-B processors would be the new weapon that Intel is finalizing, it is about desktop chips, but with the peculiarity of being based on BGA technology similar to notebook processors.

New Intel Core-B with BGA and 65W

These Intel Core-B have a TDP of 65W, their purpose is to offer integrated versions of desktop processors for AIO type form factors with a lower height, allowing a more optimized and superior design for integrated desktops. In all respects, these processors are identical to their 65W desktop equivalents, this includes core counts, base frequencies, turbo frequencies, memory support, Optane support, and integrated graphics.

The difference is that these CPUs are likely to be placed in scenarios with limited TDP enabled through firmware. An example of this is the MSI Vortex G25 system, which includes the Core i7-8700 processor limited to 65W by the BIOS, due to the heat dissipation limitations in a system as compact as this one.

This raises a situation where the MSI Vortex Core i7-8700 would perform significantly worse, up to 33% under certain workloads due to TDP limitation, compared to a Core i7-8700 without thermal restrictions. The result is that systems like the Vortex will transition to these new Core-B processors.
