Eeddit In the latest beta of the upcoming iOS 12 update released by Apple to developers later this week, the apple company has included a feature that allows users to generate iCloud links to share images through the Photos app.

New ways to share photos in iOS 12

The new sharing option included in the third beta for iOS 12 developers is located in the bottom row of the "Share" menu when we are viewing a photo on our iPhone or iPad. Thanks to this novelty, users with the iCloud Photo Library option activated will be able to enable a link or URL of icloud.com with one or more selected images that they can copy and share. This link will be active for thirty days. The operation is very similar to when we want to share documents from Dropbox or Google Drive, for example, through a link.

The aforementioned link can be shared by pasting it into other applications, for example, in the email app. When the receiver receives it and clicks on it, it is taken to a web page that contains the image or images in question, as well as an option to download it. Additionally, sharing a link in the Messages app also displays a preview of the image in the chat thread. The link also includes the author's name, photo title, and associated EXIF data, excluding location information.

This new option can be useful when you want to quickly share an image from your iOS device, without having to upload it to a third-party service. The discovery was made by the Hunkir user, who has shared it with the rest of the community.
