Krom Kane is a gaming mouse that is part of the new series of launches of the Spanish gaming brand, and that bets heavily on toys with a striking design and very careful and good benefits at a price that is difficult to beat by the competition. Krom Kane is an optical mouse with AVAGO A3050 sensor, 8 programmable buttons and software customizable RGB lighting. So we are going to tell you about our experience with this gaming mouse of only 24.90 euros.
We are very grateful for Krom's trust in us when he transferred his product to us for this analysis.
Krom Kane technical features
Unboxing and design
We will start with the Unboxing of this Krom Kane gaming mouse which has come to us in a flexible cardboard box, although it is thicker than average, which is positive. In this small box the black and orange colors of the brand are distinguished, as well as a color photo of the mouse seen from above and with the lighting activated.
On the back as always, we will have information regarding the product, its main features and buttons and a table with the most important specifications. In this way we will have all the ingredients to be sure of our purchase, but always visiting our review.
Inside the box we will find the following elements: of course the Krom Kane Mouse and also a small book as a user guide in several languages. We must say that it has control and customization software, although the mouse is obviously Plug and Play.
Krom Kane is a gaming mouse in which the brand has used materials such as plastic to build the main frame and a thin layer of rubber that covers the entire upper part to provide us with a soft and forceful grip, especially in the palm type. As always in these configurations, we cannot guarantee a long life for this top cover, as it will wear out faster over time than if it were just hard plastic.
In any case, it is a team capable of offering us a great grip compatible with palm grip and claw grip and also in both hands, since as you will see, it offers a symmetrical configuration on both sides. Later we will detail our experience in the grip.
The measurements of this Krom Kane are 124 mm long, 68 mm wide and 39 mm high, so it is a rather short mouse compared to other models like the Kammo that will be coming soon too. The weight is also about 92 grams, neither too heavy nor too light, to try to be liked by the majority of the public. We will not be able to configure the weight either.
Let's move to the top area of Krom Kane to take a closer look at the main button area. As always, we will have the two main buttons, which in this case are symmetrical and also of considerable size due to their width. The manufacturer does not give details of the type of switch used or their durability, although we expect that they will be at least more than 20 million clicks. Yes we emphasize that the click is extremely tender, we would say that too much.
In the central part there is a wheel with medium-sized lighting and a good projection, although with a somewhat sparse rubber coating that does not cover the entire area. The movement of it is soft, although quite loud. Then, at the top we find two buttons, which are factory set to change the lighting, and to select DPI.
The lateral areas we can see that they are exactly the same in this Krom Kane. We have two relatively large size and superior curvature navigation buttons that are very little out of the plane of the case, which will prevent us from accidentally pressing them. The click, as in the main buttons, is very tender, although the enough space that we have below puts them in a safe place for wrong clicks.
The rest of the area is made of hard plastic with lines in the form of channels to provide better grip and also air circulation between these lines. It sounds silly, but it helps our fingers not sweat.
From the back we see that it is completely symmetrical, the general finishes are quite good and we do not have a lateral drop to the right as normal. The downside to this is that right-handed ergonomics is not going to be the best of all, in fact, having large, flat main buttons, accidental right-click occurs frequently.
The optical sensor installed by this Krom Kane is an AVAGO A3050 with a maximum resolution of 4, 000 DPI. Even being low, it will be enough for most users to play and work at resolutions between 1080p and 4K. Although we won't get the impressive speeds of higher-end sensors.
We have a total of 6 DPI steps that we can configure with the help of the Krom software for this model, and a 1000 Hz ultrapolling. The manufacturer does not specify data on maximum acceleration of this equipment, although in the tests it has behaved at the height of the circumstances. The interface is no other than USB 2.0 with a meshed textile-coated cable and a standard length of 1.8 meters.
The sliding system is quite simple, two large Teflon legs, one placed at the front and the other at the rear with a fairly large curvature. On wood or mat we have not had problems with them and they seem to work correctly.
Software and Features
If Krom's new products are distinguishing anything, it is the incorporation of software management in almost all its products. Krom Kane could not be less, despite its extremely low price.
And the truth is, we can say that it is quite complete software as we will see below. We can download it from the official page dedicated to the mouse, and it will be software that only works for this model. The brand does not yet have software capable of providing complete control of all its products.
In any case, we are presented with a window in which we can fully see all the available options. Starting from the left area, we have a list with all the numbered buttons and a drop-down menu in each of them to select the function we want. In it, we have the functions most used by a mouse including, of course, multimedia functions, macros, triple click or "sniper" button.
Continuing further down, we can select between three different profiles, open the macro editing menu or select above between two modes, since we know that the mouse is ambidextrous.
On the right side we will have the controls related to the mouse and lighting firmware. We can configure up to 6 DPI jumps between 100 and 4, 000 DPI and also the color with which the mouse will represent each of them in the areas of the logo and wheel.
Just below we have the lighting control in which we can select between 12 predefined effects, and even place the color that we want independently in each LED lamp in the side area.
Finally, there is no lack of menu for precision control , sensitivity and other elements along with the Polling Rate selection. In tests we will talk better about this precision assistant.
Grip and sensitivity tests
Let us now proceed to describe our typical sensor testing and usage experience to see what Krom Kane sensations offer us.
Judging by the design, measurements and configuration of this mouse, there is no doubt that it is aimed at gaming, and also for both right-handed and left-handed users, with its advantages and also its disadvantages. The grip or grips with which I am comfortable are clearly palm type and claw type. As always my usual position (hand of 190 x 110 mm) is a mixture between both, back palm resting on the mouse and three slightly arched fingers on top of buttons and wheel.
With the tip grip, the side buttons are not reached correctly, it is a fairly long mouse so we can download it almost certainly. We do not have a sniper-oriented button, although we do have the possibility of configuring it, for example, on the opposite side thanks to the software, something very useful and recommended, as well as triple clicking.
The wheel, as we have mentioned, is a little lacking in rubber and is also relatively noisy. The main buttons are flat and wide, good for clicking anywhere, but bad for accidental keystrokes. In addition, it has really soft switches and with little pressure they will be pressed. The side buttons, on the other hand, are very well located and under control we are left or right handed.
Let's see the results obtained in the precision tests:
- Variance of movement: The procedure consists of putting the mouse in an enclosure of about 4 cm, then we move the equipment from one side to the other and at different speeds. In this way the line that we are painting in Paint will take a measure, if the lines vary in length, it will mean that it has acceleration, otherwise they will not have it. In this case, the tests have been very useful to detect that the precision assistance option introduces a brutal acceleration in the sensor. On the other hand, if we deactivate it, this acceleration practically reduces to zero, so we highly recommend deactivating it.
- Pixel Skipping: Performing slow movements, and at different DPI in a 4K panel, the pixel jump is not seen in any DPI setting, both on the mat and on the wood. We have kept precision support disabled. Tracking: Tests in games like Tomb Rider or DOOM or by selecting and dragging windows, the movement is correct without experiencing accidental jumps or plane changes. We don't have technical data from the sensor about the acceleration it allows, although it has performed well at high speeds. Performance on surfaces: It has worked correctly on hard surfaces such as wood, metal and of course on mats. In this case the sensor shows us a completely red light as it happened in the sensors of yesteryear.
Here we have a comparison between the different program configuration parameters for the optical sensor. By making an effort to make the best possible square in the various configurations, we see that there are no significant differences between having and not having precision assist turned on. What shows more variation is the sensitivity setting (DPI at 800 dpi selected).
Final words and conclusion about Krom Kane
Krom Kane is a mouse that has left us positive feelings regarding its use for both work and games. It is true that we do not have a Pixart sensor or its quality and reliability, but AVAGO A3050 has proven to be a very solvent sensor for users who do not ask for stratospheric performance.
The design for its part we find it very successful, ideal for both right-handed and left-handed users who use the Palm Grip or Claw Grip as their preferred grip. The dimensions are suitable for practically any hand, and both the lateral and upper grip offer great comfort and good touch. Something that has happened to us frequently is inadvertently pressing the right click, and that is that the main switches are too soft for our liking.

Thanks to the software, we can configure features, its 8 programmable buttons and also the main and secondary lighting area. The truth is that it is not usual to see a mouse of less than 25 euros offer such wide possibilities, so good work by Krom in this regard. Of course, disable the assistance to the precision of the software, because it introduces acceleration in the movement.
Finally we will be able to obtain this new Krom model for a price of 24.90 euros, in the absence of what the other authorized distributors do. Possibly we will find it even for less price, and the truth is that it is an attractive option for users looking for something with triple B.
