Star Wars Battlefront 2 has been the subject of much controversy in recent days due to the company's strong commitment to micropayments in the new video game developed by DICE, a title that promises excellent quality.

The force is on the community's side in Star Wars Battlefront 2

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is a game that is full of so-called loot boxes, that is, chests that are obtained and that contain different important elements for the game such as abilities, weapons, crafting parts and much more. The controversy came because of the high number of hours it was necessary to dedicate to be able to unlock all the content, for example, 40 hours were estimated to be necessary to unlock Luke Skywalker, the most expensive hero in the game.

A faster way to get the content was by going through the box again with the micropayments, which by the way would have to be thinking about changing the name because a payment of 50-100 euros has little micro. This has caused the community to have exploded against EA, so it has been left with no choice but to go back, first reducing the hours necessary to unlock the content and then eliminating micro-payments.

So Star Wars Battlefront 2 is already a micropayment free title in which all content can be unlocked just by playing, just as it has been done all life until very recently. For now the measure is temporary since EA is studying a new way to implement micropayments, hopefully the community will get them to leave forever.

Thanks to everyone in our community for being the passionate fans that you are.

Our goal has always been to create the best game possible for all of you - devoted Star Wars fans and players alike. We have also been continually committed to constantly listening, tuning, and developing the experience as it grows. You've seen this with the major tweaks, and polishing, we've done over the past few weeks.

But as we get closer to global launch, it is clear that many of you feel that there are still design challenges. We have heard concerns about the possibility of granting unfair advantages to players. And we've heard that this outshines a great game otherwise. This was never our intention. Sorry for not doing it right.

We hear you loud and clear, so we are disabling all in-game purchases. We will now spend more time listening, adjusting, balancing, and tuning. This means that the option to buy crystals in the game is now offline, and all progression will be earned through the game. The ability to purchase in-game crystals will be available at a later date, only after we've made changes to the game. We will share more details as we work on this.

We have created a game that is based on your input, and it will continue to evolve and grow. Star Wars Battlefront II is three times bigger than the previous game, reliving a new Star Wars story, space battles, and new multiplayer experiences across the three Star Wars eras, with more free content to come. We want you to enjoy it, so please follow your thoughts. And we will keep you informed about our progress.
